EPA/SERGEY DOLZHENKO EDITORIAL USE ONLY The Euro 2016 match between Croatia and the Czech Republic was halted on Friday after Croatian fans threw fireworks and flares onto the field.
In a terrifying moment, one firework exploded directly in front of a steward who was working to clear the field.

Croatian players spent several minutes pleading with their supporters to stop and leave the stadium so the game could resume.
Croatia was leading 2-1 at the time of the incident. The Czech Republic would go on to tie the match 2-2 in stoppage time, which is how the game ended.
